The Past Returns...

After a few years of contributions to other (lovely, fine, and worth your time!) sites, I'm returning here as a home base for music journalism and music-centric musings. If you like such things and want more, you can direct your social media doom scrolling toward the Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram presences of the Radio Eclectic multiverse.

Imminent reviews include new albums from Anneke van Giersbergen and Ana Patan. There'll be a lot of quick-read commentary focused on progressive, metal, and independent music more generally, frequent-ish highlighting of new singles and upcoming releases, and at some point I'll drop a chapter-length essay on why Test For Echo is the best Rush album of the 90's.

If you wanna catch up on the best of the Radio Eclectic diaspora, you are invited to peruse a chapter-length essay on Kansas' under-appreciated (but not quite magnum) opus In The Spirit Of Things (which did elicit commentary from Bob Ezrin himself), an effusive-but-accurate review of Devin Townsend's Empath, and a delightful interview with the exceptionally talented Courtney Swain.
